*) All amounts are in Danish Kroner. All amounts are round
off to the nearest thousand.
The Foundation has granted more money than it has paid out due to the fact that
some of the projects did not materialise. The amounts must be taken with soem
reservations as the police has seized all accounts
EACH PROJECT - SHORTLY DESCRIBED
The Foundation's support to IFAS research projects
Global Research
The purpose of the project was to show that existing knowledge and
technology, already used in the third world, can lead to progress and
development for the people who live there. 36 concrete examples were
constructed in cooperation with people from 8 different countries
International Distributors
A demonstration of the fact that great values in the form of
"wastes" from the rich areas of the world - namely used clothes - by
utilizing scientific analyses and modern commercial methods, can efficiently be
transferred to the poor areas of the world.
Grande Garderobe
A demonstration to prove that the marketing-, sales-, and target group
analyses and methods used in the rich world with great success can be used in
the poor areas of the world.
Mutual Mandarin
A demonstration proving that there are innumerous new possibilites of
contacts between Western people and people from the People's Republic of China.
Tropical Farming Research
A research project to explore the possibilites within a country such as
Belize to develop sustainable farming and at the same time enhance the living
standard in the country.
Scientific Farming in the Caribbean
An exploration of new scientific methods of cultivation within tropical
farming that can increase the crop outcome on very poor soils.
The Voice of The Third World
A project aimed at showing that it is possible to create an exciting,
inexpensive and sustainable satellite-tv-channel, building upon third world
stations' programmes, and upon a series about a group of people on their way
aorund the world on board a ship and their encounters with people from all over
the world.
Biogas from Fruit Processing Waste
A project aimed at exploring whether - and in such case, how - it could be
possible to get rid of a pollution problem with fruit waste, by creating a low
technology method for transforming the waste into biogas and useful rest
products.
The Research Project of 1st march 1995
Research into how computers can be utilized in connection
with a cover-all educational system in schools. The project money was granted
but no money was paid out because the applicant chose to finance the project in
an alternate way.
The Foundation's support to the enhancement of wind energy
New wings for a wind power station
Purchase, installation and testing of three new wings for Tvindkraft
(Tvindpower)
Electricity created through wind power does not create CO2
and consequently does not contribute to the green house effect. With three
new wings, TvindPower could continue its environment protecting functions.
Two hypotheses on windpower stations
Research project with the aim to confirm or explode the hypotheses that
there is a connection between prices and capacity per windmill in a larger
wind mill park.
Frequency Transformer
The constructin of a frequency transformer for TvindPower that can double
the effect of the wind mill - from 450 kW to 1000 kW.
The Foundation's support to the enhancement of solar energy
Solar energy proejct in Zimbabwe
Installatin of solar panels at 85 farmer's huts in rural areas in
Zimbabwe.
All of the farmers participated in the development project "From
Communal to Commercial Farmer", through whcih the slar panels served as
a model for use of sustainable energy.
Solar energy proejct in Zambia
Installation of solar panels at 87 farmers' huts and assembly places in
rural areas of Zambia - to the benefit of the environment and as a model for
others.
Solar energy to 200 village schools and assembly places
Installation of 200 solar panels at schools and assembly places for people
in rural areas in Southern Africa, where there previously was no access to
electricity.
Solar energy instalation at Pedagogical Workshops
Installation of solar panels at pedagogical workshops in rural areas in
Mozambique and Angola. The projects did not materialise as the applicant
withdrew his application.
Bio gas installation in French Polynesia
An environmental project with the aim to protect the
environment and nature of Tahiti. The project was established in connection
with the extension of an existing pig- and chicken farm, where a bio gas
system was constructed in order to utilise the slurry. Instead of polluting,
it turned into a valuable resource in connection with production of fertiliser
and electricity.
The Annual Environmental Prize
A competition aimed at schools in Denmark, giving prizes to
the best environment protecting activities.
Tropical Rainforest in Malaysia
An environmental project aimed at exploring and proving how
environment protection and commercial interests can go hand in hand.
Payne's Creek Nature Reservation
The aim was to conserve a unique piece of nature and run it
as a nature reservation, open for a special kind of eco-tourism and biological
research. The project did not materilise
The Foundation's support to the Environmental Project Floryl
The Project aim was to support the carrying out a large
running environmental and research project in Brazil, with the purpose to
produce electricity in a way that does not invalidate the CO2-balance
of the Earth.
The Foundation's support to mergency aid projects
Emergency Aid to Guinea-Bissau and Angola
Distribution of Emergency aid packets to people in Guinea-Bissau and Angola.
Emergency Aid to refugees from Kosova
Distribution of Emergency aid packets to people from Kosova.
Emergency Aid to victims of the floodings in Mozambique
Emergency Aid to victims of the floodings in Mozambique
The Foundation's support to the combat against AIDS
AIDS Research and HOPE Projects
A combined project of research and humanitarian work with the aim to
create a model for how people in southern Africa could combat AIDS, and
establish 4 HOPE centres in Zambia, Zimbabwe, Angola and Mozambique.
The running and development of 5 HOPE-centres in
southern Africa
A grant to continue the running of 5 excisting HOPE centres in southern
Africa. The aim of the HOPE Centres is to contain the spreading of AIDS and
diminish the human suffering caused by AIDS
TCE - Extra initiatives that are not included in the
base programme
A humanitarian project applying for a grant to finance extra programmes in
connection with Humana People to People's HIV and AIDS programme named TCE -
Total Control of the Epidemic.
TCE - A Pilot Study to Demonstrate Affordable Therapies for
HIV
A combined research and humanitarian project. Through practical-scientific
experiments the trial seeks to prove that there exists inexpensive medication
on the market which can contribute to slow down the tempo with which the HIV
virus is multiplying in the body.
